Kess V2 5.017 Ksuite 2.53 Test Reports
In increasing number of user already obtain Ksuite 2.53 to run with Kess v2 5.017 clone, and share their test reports, here obdii365.com would like to put these respective reviews together.

– Tested on WIN7 32bit and it’s working fine. I’ve read with KESS, a MED17.5.5 by OBD.
I’ve read the flash of a Skoda Octavia 1.4TSI with CAXA engine via OBD protocol (KESS family 203).
This ecu doesn’t have TPROT and it’s possible to read by OBD.

– Tested it works on Kuga 2.L TDCi 2015, read/write through OBDII no errors. ECU Delphi DCM6.1
– Tested on BMW E87 120d 2006. Worked fine.
– Just tried to read and write with KESS 5.017 thru OBD Renault Megane 2012 1.5dCi 81kw SID307, the Ksuite 2.47 and 2.53 throw CHECKSUM ERROR when reading (there ar no in ECU list, Just SID305). File read OK, but when You want upload to ECU, throws error at the beginning that file is bad. With K.Suite 2.23 there are in list SID305/SID307/SID309 and downloads and upload without problem. I hope I helped for someone.
Question: 2.53 stable to use? Or better stay on 2.23/2.47 ?

How to Install Kess V2 V2.53 Software on Windows 7?
Operating systems: Windows XP, Windows 7 etc
It is very easy to install. Does not require activation.
Open software CD
Copy and paste then extract Ksuite253.zip to disk C://
Open Ksuite253 folder on C://
Send Ksuite to desktop (create shortcut)
Open Driver folder and open vcredist_v86 to install Microsoft Virsual C++ 2005
Then open Driver_USBDEVICEDRV
Select driver language
Press Install to install driver until succeed
Connect kess v2 with computer. Windows will detect and install USB device.
You can check USB device on Computer Device Manager as well.
Run Ksuite shortcut on desktop
Check device info
Select Ksuite language
Software is ready to use.
For example, read BMW E91 SIEMENS MSD80 ECU
Then save data.

Is it Safe to use Kess V2 to Read/Write ECUs thru OBD?
The problem with some ECU’s, is that you can’t read them over OBD (except on some original/high priced tools) and for that reason you may need KTAG to read a full BDM, unlock TPROT (if it’s available), write the modifications back with KTAG and then you can use KESS over OBD to read/write.
Here’s how it works in 4 steps…
STEP 1: Plug KESS into car’s OBD-II port
STEP 2: Plug KESS into laptop’s USB port
STEP 3: Launch KESS software
STEP 4: Read/Write data to vehicles EEPROM ECU chip
What’s more, tuning/remapping is completely safe because you can backup and restore original ECU data back to car in 1-click.
MPPS is a very good tool and has Tricore support, but you need to open the ECU first as with KTAG.

If you don’t feel comfortable to open an ECU and connect with pogo pins using KTAG/MPPS, you can try the tools suggested by the others here, like:

1.The computer used for the device cannot be connected to the network, nor can the device be upgraded. if it be locked the factory will charge for repairs.
- The connection diagram is depend on the ecu model,Look at the model of the cpu chip for ecu select., select the software menu to read and write ecu, all 71 options ecu no need to open the ecu connection boot line. But you need to connect the GPT0 and GPT1 lines.
(For example, I removed the ecu from the car is edc17 c54, then my ecu cpu is tc1797, connect the ecu according to the wiring diagram I provided, and do not open the ecu. According to this connection diagram, you must connect gpt0 gpt1 , the software chooses this 1797 cpu option)
- 53 option is to open the ecu connection boot point read data mode, and the item se140, se140-b mode is the same,we must first read the password and then select the read data
